Front-end Developer

Job description

We're currently looking for a mid/snr developer who has strong frontend skills. We work in small dynamic teams to ship a range of different types of products in 4-8 week iterations. Some experience across the full stack is preferable as our cross functional teams move to where the work is. Typical teams are 1-4 people and you are likely to need to work with and mentor juniors.

You'd be mainly responsible for building out user interfaces and wiring up to API's. (Frontend for us is everything above the API layer.) Almost everything that we build is mobile first and owe give a lot of freedom and responsibilities to the developers to interpret how best to implement the designs. We follow a custom blend of agile practices from Scrum to Kanban but are most closely aligned with RAD.

We pay average market related salaries (if it's just about the money we're not a fit) but offer an environment that will allow you to grow and learn faster than almost any other. If you like taking responsibility and thrive in a high trust environment with loads of freedom then we're the place for you...

Requirements

Ideally you should have 4-8 years of coding experience in the workplace - if you've only worked for big corporates we're not a good fit for you. You need to like working with startups and have a passion for creating technology.

You'll need the obvious HTML/CSS skills as well as a strong opinion on LESS vs SASS. We work across most flavours of Javascript with a main focus on React, React Native or Angular - depending on the project. You may also be required to work in Ionic (or similar) as well as Firebase.

Having experience with basic devops (Jenkins, Bower, etc) is useful as well as some design/UX experience (Sketch, invision, etc). Experience in building mobile web or native apps is a must.

We like open minded people with opinions and you'll need to be able to work well with others but also independently and leading a team if needed.
